Today is just going to be a very short post. Will just link to an interesting article that claims OpenAI will reach a billion dollars in revenue by 2024. Personally, given that ChatGPT barely took a few weeks to reach millions, I think it’ll be much shorter than that. Give that OpenAI is still one of the few cutting edge tech firms to actually release its research to the public, unlike Google, who’s too afraid of it cutting into its “reputation”, I think that it could build up quite a lead quite fast. In the future we might even refer to the 21st century as the OpenAI century, if they manage to invent ever more general and general AI by the year 2084.
